Research the story of the famous Nottingham ice skating couple Torvill and Dean. Find out about their journey to 1984 Winter Olympic glory and consider how you might dramatise their story in a feature film. You might choose to dramatise their whole story or one particular aspect of it. Write a bullet point list (also known as an outline) of the 8 key scenes that you would include in your feature film treatment of their story.
You should watch the BBC documentary, Torvill & Dean: The Perfect Day (55 minutes) to get you started.

Key scenes for a feature film

| Jayne Torvill The first key point in the film should be a background story on the female dancer informing the audience of key aspects of her child hood. For example her first time on the ice. |

| Pairing up
Both dancers had previous partners but after meeting at the ice rink Torvill and Dean both had a massive motivation to improve their talent for skating together.

| The music (Bolero) The music really made the dance memorable to the audience and I think is an important part of their success so should defiantly be included in the feature film. |

| The Olympics triumph (1984 in Sarajevo) The whole film should lead to this moment where the UK athletes won gold at the Olympics and really left and incredible story of how they got there. |
